Design Process
It all started from random graphic design images from North Korea I saw from internet.
Their 60’s woodblock looking typeface showed a great gap between their contemporary content for advertising to westerners for their golf tourism and the type itself. As a South Korean myself, I could not find a way to contact the North Korean government to ask for getting the font file.
Instead, I traced the type manually yet I wanted to shake them up with ancient letter forms from the regions later happened to belong to USSR during the cold war era. I wanted to wake up all the ancient ghosts to possess this body of another 20th century dead body and make them all reborn into one united fresh body.
